What's Going To Be On Your Dinner Table Tonight?

Virginia Woolf said “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” And you might find yourself surprised to know that dining well may soon include (if it isn't already on your plate?) one of planet's most fast-growing, productive, natural and nutritious #food products: seawood.

Longtime a staple in Asian cuisine, seaweed is not only eco-friendly in its ability to capture #carbon and protect coastal waters but also it requires, in #farming, no fresh #water and no pesticides; two elements which, when used, impact the #environment.

The development of seaweed farming, too, may have a positive impact on the economies of coastal #communities, with the #industry creating jobs in these regions.

#Innovation across Europe in the seaweed farming industry is coming fast and furiously, as pointed to in the Financial Times - Sifted’s thought piece. It's worth a read. Even if you don't fancy seaweed, it could get you thinking about the food choices you make and how they impact a #sustainable #future.
