The Outcome That 'Could Be' from A Challenge to Conventional Wisdom

Saaras Mehan’s thought piece entitled ‘University Dropouts Will Be the Key to #European #tech Success’ thoroughly fascinated me, and I wanted to alert to the 5-minute read, found in Sifted.

Mehan provokes us to reconsider the model or paradigm that one might call ‘conventional wisdom’ -- academic and ‘usual suspect’ Cv credentials as underpinnings for or steps toward taking the leap and trying one’s hand in a #business #startup.

Coming from America and having now lived half my life in the UK, I found Mehan’s comments landing with me.

What is defined as ‘risky’ or veering off the straight and narrow here might be seen as 'all part of life’s #adventure' and ‘worth a try’ (with, possibly, failure at the other end) in the United States. There is the notion of the ‘rags to riches’ story one might create for oneself while building something completely #innovative and unexpected; and, dare one say, enjoy oneself while doing it while those around applaud the #rewards given and the outcome achieved.

One wonders what The Possibility is might come from shifts in mindset, ‘policy supporting #risk,’ and the unrivalled imagination coupled with determination that can be widely seen not only across the United States but, here, too (and vastly so!) in #Europe.
