SME Leadership and the Sustainability Agenda

It was a pleasure to be part of the 4 June speaker panel for the joint Imperial College London Leonardo Centre for Sustainable Business - West London Business "Better Futures" Programme and engage SME founder-owners and senior executives on the topic of sustainability #leadership (https://lnkd.in/deJNigu).

The time spent with these leaders reinforced for me that while the news headlines are filled with large corporate commitments, #SME founder-owners and senior executives, too, are looking actively to see how they can manifest in their businesses the changes necessary to drive the #sustainability agenda.

According to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), there were just under 6 million small businesses at the start of 2020, and Merchant Savvy's April 2021 report highlights that SME’s accounted for 52% of private sector turnover in 2020 and 60% of all private sector jobs in the UK (a total of 16.6 million).

A sustainable #future thus very clearly relies on engagement of SMEs in making strides across #Environmental, #Social and #Governance (#esg) dimensions in #business.

I have pledged to support SME leaders in their #sustainable transition. I am actively working with both established and start up organisations in driving change. Let me know how I can help you with your #sustainability journey.
