UK Grocer Morrisons' CEO David Potts Leads Boldy with Net Zero Supply Chain Commitments

The world’s largest grocers are in a consummate position to drive systemic change in food #supplychains if they assume the mantle, lever #innovation and openness to new ways of thinking, and have the courage of their convictions to actively reposition #business models in support of a sustainable #future.

This week, leading UK grocer Morrisons’ Chief Executive Officer David Potts exemplified just that in declaring this week that the company will source exclusively from #netzero British farms by 2030 (if not sooner).

Ambitious perhaps, but as Potts said “as British #farming's biggest supermarket customer, we’re in a unique position to guide our farms and help lead changes.”

In doing so, Morrisons is also ensuring that we customers are afforded #sustainability-friendly products, making it easier for us to be responsible and play our part in driving the transition.

Orson Welles once said “Ask not what you can do for your country. Ask what’s for lunch.”

Here’s to Potts and his #leadership team putting food on our tables which is good for the planet. So goes the adage, ‘doing good business is good’.
