Fiddling While Rome Burns

Words can’t do justice to what we’re seeing unfold in #California!  It’s impossible to get one’s head around the mass devastation to the acres covered and to the now hundreds of thousands of people effected by the wildfires, which continue as I write this post.

It's impossible, also, to get one’s head around the reality that even with this horror we are witnessing – coupled with the myriad of disasters we witness across all corners of our world occurring more frequently and with increasing impact – humanity still manages to turn a blind eye and focus on the small, incremental steps to address #climate change.

That adage “fiddling while Rome burns” cannot help but spring to mind.  Except, perhaps, for those who remain somehow, still, unconvinced of the alarming shifts underway on our #planet.
