Deep Democracy, Courage and Dialogue: Three Important Ingredients to Team
The importance of creating and environment of #inclusivity is highlighted smartly and potently in Hill, Paine and Cash’s Harvard Business Review’s ‘Are You Leveraging the #Diverse #Talent on Your Board.’
In reading their article, I noticed how many of the themes presented as barriers or dimensions that ‘hold back’ a #Board from its full potential are those that I hear within my practice as an executive, team and organisational #coach.
> ‘#Deep #democracy’ – the assurance or intention and approach to having all voices heard; which is not only on the team leader or Chair but also every team member to live and breathe
> #Courage – the capacity to say what needs to be said or wants to be said; even in moments where it may be difficult to do or unpopular to do so
> #Dialogue – giving time and space for meaningful exchange and the ‘check in’ with all members, by all members...to create awareness of what is and isn’t working, address change that can enhance dynamics, and imbue the group or team with belief of all The Possibility.
